Your Roof Will Not Last Forever!

Many homeowners understand there are many things that can suddenly happen to their home. We are not talking about the random light bulb or cable going out, but damages that would require a local Portland Roof Repair pro. You may have been thinking plumbing or electrical because oftentimes homeowners neglect their roof due to it being out of sight and out of mind. Nevertheless, your roof is the primary line of defense for your home. A structure with roof damage puts your home at a greater risk for other inherent damages that can quickly add up.

Have we got your attention yet?!? Great, then here are a few things that you to consider:

For starters, your roof is not going to last forever. A traditional asphalt shingle roof will typically last 20 years with some good luck from mother nature and routine maintenance from a Portland Roofer. This is especially true living in an area that sees a decent amount of bad weather such as heavy winds, thunderstorms, hail, and large amounts of snow. All of these conditions are an ideal breeding ground for trees to damage your roof!

Next, there are your shingles which are the first to see the elements. They are also an excellent indicator of the condition of your roof and how it is performing. Have you ever found a shingle on your property? The wind blew it there and a reputable roofer willdetermine if there are any other problems and repair all of the missing and damaged shingles.

Hail can be a tricky situation. Just take a look at what it can do to your vehicle! Hail the size of a pebble usually will not do much damage, but when it becomes the size of a quarter or larger is when the real damage begins. Additionally, if your home has seen 1" size hail or larger, you more than likely will have roof damage. Remember, just because you cannot see it does not mean it is not there. Hail is hard to see to the untrained eye, and even harder from the ground.
